aac2026 AMPP Alberta Conference in Calgary Alberta Canada from February 9 to 12 2026

PICA Corp is proud to announce our participation in the AMPP Alberta Conference 2026, taking place February 9–12, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Hosted by AMPP Alberta Chapter, this premier regional conference brings together corrosion, materials, integrity, and infrastructure professionals from across Western Canada and beyond.

This year’s theme—“Infrastructure Resilience to Corrosion during Energy Transition”—addresses one of the most critical challenges facing infrastructure owners today. As energy systems evolve and aging assets face new operating conditions, understanding and managing corrosion risk has never been more important. PICA is honored to contribute to this discussion and share insights drawn from decades of pipeline inspection and condition assessment experience across water, energy, and industrial sectors.

PICA’s Role at AMPP Alberta 2026

PICA founder and Chairman Dave Russell will participate as a panelist, bringing more than 50 years of experience in non-destructive testing (NDT), pipeline inspection, and corrosion assessment to the conversation. Dave’s work has shaped modern electromagnetic pipeline inspection technologies and helped utilities and asset owners worldwide better understand failure mechanisms in critical infrastructure.

During the conference, PICA will contribute expertise on how advanced inspection technologies can strengthen infrastructure resilience by identifying corrosion, wall loss, wire breaks, and structural vulnerabilities—often long before failure occurs. These insights are especially relevant as energy transition introduces new materials, operating conditions, and risk profiles for existing assets.

Why AMPP Alberta Matters Now

As industries move toward lower-carbon energy systems, infrastructure owners face increasing pressure to adapt existing pipelines, facilities, and utilities while maintaining safety, reliability, and performance. Corrosion remains one of the leading threats to asset integrity—yet it is often invisible until damage is severe.

The AMPP Alberta Conference provides a critical forum for:

  • Understanding corrosion risks during energy transition
  • Sharing best practices in materials protection and integrity management
  • Exploring how NDT and condition assessment support proactive decision-making
  • Connecting researchers, engineers, operators, and technology leaders

PICA’s participation underscores the importance of accurate condition data as the foundation for resilient infrastructure planning.

How PICA Supports Infrastructure Resilience

Across water, wastewater, energy, mining, and industrial systems, PICA helps asset owners move from reactive maintenance to proactive, data-driven asset management. Our inspection technologies are designed to operate inside live pipelines and complex assets, delivering actionable insight without service interruption.

PICA’s services support:

  • Detection of corrosion and wall thinning in metallic pipelines
  • Assessment of lined pipes, including cement-mortar, epoxy, and rubber linings
  • Identification of structural defects and high-risk segments
  • Risk-based prioritization of rehabilitation and repair
  • Extension of asset service life and reduction of failure consequences

These capabilities are directly aligned with the conference theme of building resilience during periods of transition and uncertainty.
