How to start your CCTV pipeline inspection program

Are your pipes inline with best practices and inspection standards?

If it’s been a considerable period of time since the last inline inspection for your water main lines, you may be running the risk of operating with undetected damages and imminent failures. As one of North America’s leading providers of pipeline inspections and technologies, PICA Corp knows just how costly sudden breakages can be. Below, we’ll explore the benefits of preventative inspection, as well as CCTV evaluations. Read on to learn more.

Prevent To Protect

It’s no secret that every year, water mainline failures cost municipalities, operators, and even members of the surrounding communities millions of dollars in extensive damages. With ground water that contains salts and chemicals in contact with the pipe O.D., even the toughest of pipes begin to degrade over time. Using the right tools and a dedicated inspection schedule with a team like PICA’s, you can help mitigate such risks and ensure that your lines are safe and secure for the long term.

CCTV Inspection At PICA

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) inspections have become another important Tool in the PICA arsenal of pipeline inspection Tools.  We have IBAK crawlers and PTZ cameras that are suited for pipes in the range of 8″ to 16″ diameter; however, we have modified the IBAK to be able to inspect pipes as large as 60″ (see photo).  For smaller pipes, PICA offers the IBAK Mini Lite push-rod camera.  It’s excellent clarity and resolution have helped our customers detect blockages, cracked pipes, joint issues and stuck valves.  PICA is proud to offer comprehensive inspection services that help keep your pipes safe, protect your budget, and prevent disasters before they have the chance to start.
