Role:
The PICA Business Development Manager plays an integral role in working with the rest of the business development team in finding and generating leads and opportunities for PICA’s inspection and condition analysis services business. This role requires a confident communicator and sales professional to drive services business for the organization.
Responsibilities
• Identify prospects, explore opportunities, and develop new leads.
• Travel throughout North America for meetings with clients, engineering firms, trade organizations and conferences. Travel will be approximately 25-30% of the time in the year.
• Expand relationships and opportunities with existing clients.
• Build and maintain a sales funnel.
• Participate in industry events, author papers, present at conferences, and lunch and learn events.
• Work actively as part of the business development team and contribute regularly to the team.
• Report weekly to management on business development status.
• Maintain opportunities, contacts and accounts in CRM system and ensure it is current.
• Thorough understanding of municipal clients’ buried pipe infrastructure inspection needs is an asset.
• Work to continually ensure knowledge is up to date in industries PICA pipeline inspection serves.
• Work with PICA’s Solution Engineers to prepare estimating/pricing for pipeline inspection services proposals.
• Review contracts; negotiate terms.
• Identify industry trends that will help fuel future growth for the organization.
• Gather and share competitive information with the company for strategy planning and market positioning and go to market planning.
• Experience writing formal RFP Responses, proposals, papers and conducting presentations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Development/Outside Salesperson.
• Extended experience in building a sales funnel and preparing responses for RFP’s. Experience in the municipal industry is an asset.
• 3+ years of industry related experience—pipeline inspection, construction, or operations. Water, wastewater experience ideal.
• Highly organized, flexible, and maintains confidentiality.
